activities?
Same story same day...Ive been laggin on this but I've got some goodness coming in the near future. Had a fantastic trip to BRo Cal with some photos and video to follow. More recently I have a few days off and I'm trying to do something eventful each of those days...today I had a pretty good one. Went to a local thrift store full of different people and picked up a sweet flannel as well as a pretty sweet 35mm camera:
that beauty is just another added to my collection and ran me $5.00...not bad.
Speaking of cameras...my dad gave me a camera that was his fathers from back in the day. Now I'm no Ansel Adams or anything like that but I've seen many cameras...but none like this one:
It uses 110 size film which is another foreign thing to me. Anyways its super small and you can find telephoto/ wide angle lenses for it, which is something i plan on doing eventually. Its pretty much a spy sized 35mm cam.
Ok so after the thrift evtravaganza I got some subway, hung out for a little then searched for a hiking trail...cause as you will see once i post some of my CAlifornia adventure I'm now training to be the next Man vs WILD...(not really) . So one of my boss's at hell told me about a place just up the road from my current location in millcreek. So I put on what I thought were my best shoes for the hike ( van's skate shoes) and drove up the road which opened up into a hikers paradise. There were streams, ponds, a lake on some trail...and really just trails all over. Now the weather has been on and off in the salt lake capoonity so a good amount of the trail i took was rather muddy:
So whatevs i got to this sign and just dove right in:
I'm new to this whole outdoor's type thing so I showed up in a sweatshirt vans and jeans...needless to say I felt a little out of place when fellow hikers would pass me wearing the regular attire:
Oh well..what i had on didn't effect my bad-ass-ness one bit:
MOst of the hike was mellow..essentially it was just like walking on flat ground with a slight slant and the occasional hill...nothing like my earth day hike...here are some pictorals to give you a visual:
It was pretty good to get out today...to much on my mind has been eating at me so thanks nature for being there and not sending a mtn lion or bear to decapitate me.
Oh and im tryin to cook more and more, and with Blake having been gone for like 2 months i get to eat whatever i'd like..so tonight i made pigs in a blanket
goodnight world..check back soon for the california recap..CIAOOOO

parlay?
Got the next 2 days off and instead of doing what I usually do I tried to wake up early ( which for me is 10 a.m.) to go out and snowboard while the resorts are still open. So after a coffee stop i got to the Canyons resort in park city around 10:45. It was awkward..i got on the gondola that takes you to the top lifts and just when i thought i had this 8 person car to myself...i hear the clanking of ski boots on wet cement.. Here come a rushing grandma at full speed..throws her skis in the holders and jumps in right as the door was closing. Now i forgot my headphones so i couldn't just blast loud offensive hip hop..So we sat...the whole way..15 mins of silence..it was scary..i think she maybe was Russian or something like that cause she was mumbling things that sounded foreign to me.
Sorry, that was quite the ramble. OK so I've been to the canyons a few times before and every time I went i was with people that didn't want to go thru the park, but every time id see glimpses of boxes and jumps id wish i was in there. Today..being that i went up solo i had the opportunity to ride some of the "fun" looking obstacles. Ehhhh not that cool to be honest...now I'm no Shaun white or Shawn Palmer..or any CORE type snowboarders like that..but to me everything just seemed whatever, Boxes and rails there isn't much too them but the jumps were borderline dangerous... Hit the first 1..case...hit the 2ND case..hit the 3rd one..and overshoot the crap out of it to flat. ekk.
After just about killing myself on jumps i decided to head to the quiet part of the mtn and smoke some crack that I picked up off some hooker at the 7-11 A.M. coffee stop earlier in the morning. Kidding just took some cruiser runs and bump hops and called it a day.
Made a quik Subway stop and headed to the fort. For some reason i was still awake so hopped on the rollerblades (car) and took off. Deseret Industries in sugarhouse...nada damn thing. TJ max..NOT a damn thing....Ghetto sketchy thrift store.. BOOM copd myself anotther jersey shirt im kind of in the process of collecting. Anyways wtf am i writing this for.
ON the way back home i noticed that Salt Lake really cares for there retards.. I mean this shortbus is extra tall and looks ready to go to war with any other shortbus gang in the continental U.S.A:
GOt home...noticed that blakes expensive ANTI establishment magazine had arrived (adbusters).. so i took a quick gander and saw this:
which i thot was cool and a good message. The artists that dropped out or never went to Art School seem to have a lot more talent and a different way of drawing/ painting altogether which in the end comes out more raw and real vs the same ol same shit (sorry..didnt mean to bash art school students)
ehhh thats all folks...reeses peaces:
Oh and my friend Kaye sent me this from her trip to New Orleans...i thot it was life changing..laytes:

let the good times roll
Hollaluyahollaback. So for the 2 of ya'll that read my last post I recently had a vegas vacation...and while on my way back from that vacation i recieved a lone call from an 818 area code phone number....Ok nevermind it actually said Kirk calling...but im all bout visuals. Anyways he was also on his way up to Salt Lake for his first time. Now I grew up snowboarding with kirk but he was always a lot better than me but evertyime we snowboarded together (no homo) it was a good time.
OK so he called me up said he was gonna be in town and wanted to ride Brighton which is a place i've only been to once before. This time was different...in that there was actually a good amount of snow and not a lot of people:
I'm gonna go out on a limb and say it was by far the most fun i've had all season. It brought me back to the good ol days riding waterman were all there was to ride was deep fresh snow and steep terrain. All that was missing was that fuckin italian kid...where is he anyways?:
Mt Waterman is a small like 3-4 lift resort about 45 mins outside of LA in Angeles crest. Kirk, Sam, the twins and myself used to go up there when the sport was still fresh and new. So it was deffinetly good to be back in that mindset for at least the day. BLAH BLAH BLAH ok ima just post some fotys of the day..keep smiling world...its a good time to be alive..PEACE:
