Ode to the past?

My day of enlightenment started some day way back, when i was at Mtn High in Wrightwood CA (before it turned into the worst place to shred)..sitting next to a yellow box with a borrowed directional SIMS snowboard and Sorel boots. I sat there in awe watching people 50-50 and boardslide this box over and over till my toes turned purps. It wasnt til a few years later that I actually got into snowboarding. After a few days out on two planks (skis) i realized that id make the switch to snowboarding...a choice well made. My friend's and loving brothers Ben and Kirk Coughman always would take trips to mammoth in the winter and would come back with short videos that there parents had taped. I remember one clip kirk skis by the main lodge throws up a wave wearing a hat you may have seen before in the hit Disney Movie titled: Johnny Tsunami..seen here

anyways after he SKI'S by it cuts to a clip of B-Kauf (then..avid snowboarder..and reason most of us started) is carving down some snake run hits a lip and right as the music that played throughout main park peaked..Boom catches an edge and shoots out of the screen...i then realized that A...kirk smells like up-dog and B..snowboarding looks like goodtimes.
So fast forward about 2 years when i bought my first board. It was a Limited 148 with no name bindings and airwalk boots i got from B Kauf. I thot it looked sweet but of course i was made fun of cause it was a "kook-ish" and not big named board...but fuq it..i was stoked. I remember one of the first times i went was with kirk, ben, and kevin dirlam up to Snow Valley (skiridge park) to hit the slopes. Anyways i stuck to the bunny hill cause i didnt know how to carve while everyone got there slash on. After the humiliation of sucking pickle at snowboarding set in..i started goin up the crest with my mom to hone my skills while she hiked. Ok trip 2 was up to big bear where kirk, kyle castellani, and mike southerland all went up for mikes south park birthday and to hit the slopes. Built a sweet "kicker" wich by the way..i hate that word...anyways kirk and kyle hit it i think maybe i did too..once but it furthered my love for the white wave.
K if you've gotten this far into my boring rant then hold on just a lil longer...
It was a rainy fall and the snowboard hype was fast approaching... someone got ahold of Mack Dawgs Technical Difficulties:

and i was hooked...fave part was Bjorn Leines....till this day still i am amped on it.
Anywhoot that year i believe i got a Mtn High and Snow Summit pass...when summit was the shit and u had to have an Ego Trip park pass to get in...wich i had..but i never hit anything. It was the year of the Forum 8 so obviously kirk, sam, jon burnham, and I all had the new forum boards and flaunted them as if we were crips in the blood neighborhood..or something like that. The season that followed was the best season I had to date. I remember it was a icy/snowy day at mtn high when sam laurie:

and i spent hours trying some gay ass Y rail..wich ended in neither of us getting through the whole thing...
fast forward to High School years of shred and all of us were still riding together having fun..sam made a video that we played in a Seal Beach pizza joint...times were good..very good.
oh and off the record..to those who are just now getting a shred stick pick up a copy of active's snowboard video titled : ONE and :Technines Represent both were raw sweet arse videos at least in my eyes.
Its funny how so much as changed in the world of snowboarding esp clothing trends...wich i think everyone has touched in on.
you have the SLC white gang members that havent goten anything less than a A- in there honor roll classes;

and the tight pants guys as well:

bahh fuq it you know...shits always changing and never will stop...too many haters and not enough people enjoying the being an individual and doin there own shit....too each his own..one may say. So get off ur hate column's and forums...and do whatever floats ur boat...

goodtimes good people...the good life

Word...so I highly dislike my job but I enjoy the paychecks I get so I continue to work there....and like everything...it could be worse. So anyways I had a typical not so bueno day at work got off (no homo) around 5 ish...walked into casa De KeLLer Lane threw my ish on the table, walked into my room and found this sweet lil number on my bed:

To those of you that dont know what they are they are metal toe cages for my pedals on my bike. Anyways its not so much the pedals that Im stoked about as much as how cool it is that someone i've barely known for a year still remembered that I was alive...To me it seems like since I moved out hure people forgot I even existed...but anyways its times and gifts like this that helps you realize who your true friends are and more importatly who are not.

Here is a video of a real true friend...i like to call him D-Ray, but you can call him DirtBike:

Anyways I got home today after you guess it..another lame day at slave alet...and I get home to the smell of onions and saturated pork in a crock-pot. This was seans doing...To me it didnt smell to bueno until he spiced it up and put some bbq sauce on it....ahhh mucho bueno:

Umm also I ventured up the street to MolcaSalsa's which is a pretty popular mexican restaurant ...anyways its pretty good..they have tasty cheese enciladas (sp) pictured here:

Got the next 2 days off so check back..oh and check out blakes edit i posted under this...tooodles

Some food and Some snow.

Word up fellow bored people unite! So this post is a dedication to 2 of the more finer things in life...Food and Snow

So when I used to live in Long Beach I would sometimes venture back home to La Crescenta usually to visit my madre and get some skate action taken care of. Well anyways skate crew usually included the usual suspects of Sam, D-Song, Kirk, And myself. We would usually end up at the south pas park where everyone would be gettin there madd trickery taken care of (minus myself)....but the best part of those days if we were lucky, we would be eating at D-Songs aunts resturaunt by sunset....for the price of a tip. here are some fotos of the scrumptious eats....

This is the name and menu of the resturaunteeee`

Here are some of the best sushi's at the joint:

They also have some of the best orange chicken i've had in my life...but word has it that the menu has changed a bunch but im sure the food is still tasty...!

Aight well a few nights ago sean came home and asked if i wanted to go to MolcaSalsa's I wasnt too hungry but i decided i would be down to go...He then said oh by the way..ur driving. Off the record to you people that do what sean does ur about as cool as ghonorhea. I used to have friends in High SChool that would be like " hey ben..u wanna go snowboarding this weekend" i'd answer with a promt "yes" then they would be like "sweeet pick me up at my house at 7:00. " dont invite me with the intentions of having me drive without me knowing about it...and just for that...ima post a sexy picture of sean up on this beotch.

It actually worked out in my favor tho cause i got some bomb taqitos (sp) and Horchatta.

So anyways last night it started snowing here in SLC and it was nice but a little cold in my bat cave. I actually fell asleep before 1am and woke up rather early..only to fall back asleep til 11ish. Then Sean got home from his night of debauchery and was like "B! lets get breakfast" and i was like hmm...."fa show!"
So we drove to Over The Counter wich is a pretty darn sweet place and the 2 of us lads (no homo ov course) sat down and had some tasty omlettes(sp) and shared war stories. this is our food...enjoy it like we did.....(no homo)

Word here are some snapshots of the snow that fell last night...half of it melted but it snowed nonetheless.

thats it for now...tooodles!

Cool Beans

Ok. So before I ventured off into the infinite abyss called Utah I found this lil dime at sun thrift and picked up up for $2.50....money well spent.

Here is a picture of my seizure having dog called Callie...shes an Australian sheppard and doesnt like anyone other than kirk and my family...weird.

Here is an EMO picture of a swingset that no one uses in our backyard of our casa in Utah.

MOvie Monday's

Holla! So Blake bein the cool guy that he is..picked up the latest Snowboard shred flicks and allowed me to view them on his newly purchased 900 inch flat screen tv...

The first one we watched was Mack Dawgs "Down with people" wich was pretty darn nifty? I mean it was good... a ton of stuff that i enjoy watching and overall a good video. I thot Sexton, Mendenhall, and Austin Smith had the best parts...but who am i to judge.

We then focused our eyes on Double Decade which was aight... I say aight becuase 1...im from the hood and 2..it was just ok. JP Walker is still the man and keeps impressing me especially seeing that a majority of his part was switch...and of course Darrell Mathes had some sweet goodness
WE also watched the sandbox video which was different..a bunch of guys that no ones heard of before but there was a "fakie" frontside 270 onto a rail that was a highlight

I still have yet to see These Days wich i neeeda see as well as the highly anticipated "Thats it Thats all" Travis Rice video...blah yup im no critic but I sure can dance...Ya DIIIGGGGG a milli a milli a milli
